Freshened for the first time at 12 months, A14 is now a large, level doe with a capacious udder. Like most of our does, she took time to mature and grow — and grow she did.  However, looking at her yearling photo you can see that she has everything a young doe needs to mature into an impressive animal.

Snow Aglow, like A14, has matured into a powerful doe. Below are photos of her dam, Snowlenta, whom we lost suddenly a few months after her first freshening with Snow Aglow and her brother Lone Star.

Lone Star is now in Patrick McLean’s Canadian herd. Lone Star, A19’s littermate brother, is the sire of the young milker shown below. We choose our bucks carefully from our best does (in our evaluation) keeping in mind the importance of a buck when he is used in small population like purebred Saanens.  Seeing photos like this make us happy that our animals are doing well in other purebred herds.
